The Bedroom Sessions by Adam Kerr

End of Chapter 18

Sunday, December 31, 2006

I'm not exactly 19, but I'll be turning 19 in less than 2 months though.

It's the last day of 2006, thank God. I was planning to be boring and write about the significant events in 2006, but I think you shouldn't be lazy and view my archives. Everything's there.

I'm hungry, give me ten minutes to make myself instant noodles. It's 5.25am right now, by the way.

It took me 13 minutes to cook, and to serve my food. Whao. That's long.

Ahh, the two weeks break from school has been pretty, interesting.. so to say. I shant whine about how I've not been doing my work, and how much I've been partying. I guess I am "simply [an] irresponsible, worthless [person] that [has] no direction in life".

Pretty true, I must say. Dwelling on the past has brought me nowhere really. Being jealous of people is really stupid. But you know, it's just really annoying when you can't control your own feelings. Cliche, yes, but it is true. Come on, you know it.

I've been questioning people's intentions lately. I don't know if people have been genuine towards me or not. As of late, people have been really plastic for some reason. I'm either being too sensitive, or I just can't differentiate anymore because people are being so good at being plastic.

Plastic = fake, good on the outside, two-faced.

It's rather sad when you actually have to question your very own friends' intentions you know. And it sucks that despite having such a big social circle, you still feel lonely at times. 2006 isn't great. It started out well, was okay in the middle, but ended up so shittily (is there even such a word?!).

This entry is useless.

So remember kids, there is no such thing as a happy ending. We all die in the end. Is that very happy ending? No.

Happy (I hate this word) New Year.

Christmas is the Time of the Year Where Everyone is Plastic

Monday, December 25, 2006

MERRY CHRISTMAS, ASSHOLES.

Boy, I do look scary huh?

ZOMG Thursday was tiring, I swear.

In the morning, I was doing updating of noticeboards with Jonathan. Putri tagged along, and she acted as an ex-member of the schools that we went to. Haha. Gee, it's been a long time that 3 of us were out together (4 of us being together again would just be, I don't know, weird now).

Aiyah, this whole friendship/clique thing is just so dumb.

Anyway. We did 6 schools around the Bukit Batok area and Jurong Area, and then I had to go back to school for Written Communication consultation (and that just rhymed). Putri went off to meet Laura. Apparently I gotta drop my topic and write on a new topic. Hoho.

After that it was off to the Ambassadors' Room! I had to pack 4 more bags because I was doing 4 more schools with Shae.

Fucking hilarious, I must say. Shae's one crazy girl. LOL. She cracks stupid jokes that makes me laugh everytime I think about it. But sadly, I don't remember most of her jokes already. Haha, there was one where she said something about this picture.

"Sia la this picture so hot I'll masturbate while looking at it!"

Yeah that's what she said. I bet she's doing it right now as we speak. Anyway, we nearly didn't make it for Yuan Ching Sec. The school looked damn deserted and we thought there was nobody inside. But thank God, there was this guy, I think he was the Principal or something. Oh well.

We went out of the school and had a ball of a time. LOL, we took stupid photos and uh, kicked water at each other, and ran around. After that we walked back to the market near my place so that she can take a bus back home. God, it was an interesting walk. (:

So I got home and rested a while before I went off to shower. And I couldn't decide what to match with the blazer. Putri was at Laura's place, so I webcammed with her to ask her for opinions. All in all, I tried on about 7 tops.

Laura can't be back too late so she wanted to leave earlier. Yeah so I was already gonna be late, and she kept rushing. So I told her to just meet me at Clarke Quay so that we won't waste time.

I already got annoyed at the rushing part, and the fact that I couldn't pick what to wear, and that my hair was all over the place. I really didn't need someone to tell me to hurry up.

On the way to Clarke Quay, Laura (or Putri) called and told me to go over first. I was already reaching Outram Park, so uh yeah, I went over to Laura's place then. I walked in, and she was talking to her mom, and apparently her mom hung up on her halfway, while she was asking if she could stay out a bit later.

And then she got so upset and everything. She had to be back by 11pm, and it was nearly 10pm already. I bet she was thinking in her mind, "Aiyah it's all Adam's fault. Now I can't even leave the house."

She left the room, and came back in. Then she changed back to her home clothes. And then sat there and there was this deafening silence in the room. All of us didn't know what to do, and I didn't wanna stay because it'd be so weird anyway. Not only that I already had a table reserved at Fashion Bar. I didn't wanna go either, because it'd be so bad lah.

Putri broke the silence and said some things. She mentioned that Laura said I was showing attitude problem when I was replying her with one liners. She also said that I had no sense of urgency. Not only that, she said, "Why should I pay for drinks? It's my night!"

Well, here's my 2-cents worth.

You're no better, you have a bigger attitude problem. Have you ever noticed that? Oh. I forgot. You don't have friends that tell you off. And besides, you can't take brutal honesty in all its glory anyway.

No sense of urgency? Excuse me, after doing duty for a whole day, you think I don't need rest ah? Do you think I'm some kind of robot or something? Hurr, so much for ME being insensitive and unreasonable (HURR I BET YOU REMEMBER THAT HUH), look at yourself. So much for thinking about me huh?

I knew I was going to be late, and I told you that we should meet at Clarke Quay instead because I knew you had to be home early, but no, you were scared that I'd be pissed off because I'd be carrying my bag. Hurr, you didn't even ask. You simply assumed.

Sure, it's a night to celebrate your return, not celebrating YOU. And besides, we're not just celebrating your return, fyi, we're celebrating friendship. You just had to be selfish, huh? Even towards your good friends. God, I can't believe how selfish you are.

How does Jon put up with you?

And thanks for calling Sheryl to talk to her in front of us eh.

We left, with all our bags and stuff, and bumped into her Mom downstairs. What a surprise.

Anyway, we had a blast that night at Fashion Bar, the 3 of us. Fiona is the best man! She served us the whole night and she was great. :D I got to know more of her colleagues, haha.

We ordered a bottle of Penmara red wine and made a toast to friendship that will last till we grow old. (: Ahh it had such a divine taste.

Best friends till our graves!

Debut appearance of Fiona! :D

Okay so after we finished our bottle of Penrama, we hung around a while and talked lots of shit. Fiona was telling us some stories about her customers which I found quite hilarious. LOL. Anyway, after a long while, Putri ordered her Hazelnut Martini, which tasted oh-so-good. It had uhh, chocolate, and I don't know, other stuff inside. But it tasted good, it was like, liquid chocolate with alcohol.

Haha, Putri just lost it after that.

Really.

See what I mean? Haha.

I ordered a Flaming Lamborghini and Jun Wei ordered a Long Beach Iced Tea.

Too bad the flame can't be seen. LOL, it was my uh, first time trying it. It's so sweet and warm lah.

A while later, someone couldn't take it, and turned into a Merlion.

Mhmm, it's hilarious. I don't even know how we managed to get home man. Anyway, it was a sweet night, followed by a headache-y morning. Haha hangovers. We were so lazy to do anything the next day.

Oh and she couldn't remember anything!

Behold, the evolution of the drunken one.

Tis' The Season

Tuesday, December 19, 2006

When it gets cold outside and you got nobody to love..

It's the merry season again - Christmas decors are up, sales are on-going and everybody's buying presents for everyone else. And what a perfect time for it to rain 2 days straight. We don't have the snow, but hey, we have the rain to make up for it!

The weather has been lovely. It's not too cold, it's just right. And what better time too! I planned to stay home today and it rained and ahh.. I took advantage of it.

I made myself some hot cocoa and had marshmellows with it. I made my bed more cosy by putting more pillows, closed the curtains and turned on my lava lamp. And to add to the ambience, I made a playlist consisting of Kings of Convenience, Lamb, The Cranberries, Damien Rice, Jamie Cullum and Zero 7.

This, is bliss.

But something is missing..

PS: WELCOME BACK LAURA. I FUCKING MISSED YOU.

Crazy Party Weekend

Saturday, December 16, 2006

CAUTION: LONG POST + IMAGE HEAVY
DON'T HESITATE TO COMMENT. (:

I had the best time of my life. In the past 3 days, I have worked my arms, legs, feet, fingers - basically my whole body. I have been bruised, battered, and also, received blisters on my feet. My entire body is aching, but it was all good.

I made some new friends too, and they're all much, MUCH older than me. So, which is the best night? I have to say, it's gotta be Friday night, when we were at MoS for Godskitchen. Ahh, it was temporary bliss.

Trance the whole night - uplifting synths, rocking good rhythms and the fast and strong beats. End it off with Tiesto's remix of Silence by Sarah McLachlan plus seeing a gazillion other familiar faces.

However, the past 3 days were all good. (: Let's start with Thursday!

Thursday

Yeah, we saw Jade (and it's the second time for me this week, gosh). This time I got to take a photo with her! :D

My sister and I were running a little late. Oh by the way, Putri was over for dinner. (: Anyway, we cabbed down and met my sister's friends. We walked over to St James. From far, it looked really dead - there was no queue and music we heard wasn't rocking. As we got closer, we realised that there was this Tiger Live! thing happening outside. We saw some outlets and were wondering where Powerhouse was. So we went over to the back.

And there it was, the queue for powerhouse. :D So after we waited for another friend, we went in and checked the place out. And then we realised the best thing about the party other than getting in with invites.

FREE FLOW OF DRINKS.

Whao. Thank God they didn't mention it in the invites or else all the mats minahs bengs lians will come and ruin the whole night. The place, or rather, the Powerhouse outlet isn't really big. It's high though, and the speakers are massive. Didn't get to take photos though.

Later in the night there were performances above us, yes above us.

Anyway, the music's good and the crowd was surprisingly very friendly. And I made a new friend! LOL, he was shuffling there and uh, yeah we talked and stuff. Good shuffler, I must say!

That's him. His name is Steven! LOL.

I was pissed drunk, and somehow, we got to West Coast Macs. I don't know what else happened there but when I woke up at home, I dreamt that I saw Jun Wei and Benedict somewhere. And then I realised, that it wasn't a dream. Why?

He appeared in my pictures.

----
Friday
I woke up at 9am, to a fucking bad headache and a bad hangover. Not to mention I had puke on my own shirt. I had class at 10am. Damnit. I was so stoned during class, and I was still feeling a bit drunk. I couldn't walk straight and I felt nauseous. Bad bad bad.

But I made it to the end. (: Gah not enough sleep.

The whole of Cannery officially opened today. My sister had invites so we decided to take a look around. There's Aurum, The Clinic, Fashion Bar, Barfly & Bice (pronounced as "beach-eh"). We took a look at everything except for Barfly & Bice.

Everywhere was damn crowded that night.

We went into The Clinic, and there's this room that's fucking cool. It's Aurum and it's supposedly a restaurant lah. But they had freaking wheelchairs on the dancefloor, and not only that, the DJ Console is damn cool. Look!

Shit I look like a monkey.

After walking around for a while, we headed over to TCC for uhh.. supper (what do you call a meal at 12am?). Ahh I had some Baked Salmon with Coffee Sauce, Mashed Potatoes and Asparagus.

WAIT.

Before you start thinking how bad it'd taste with Coffee Sauce, it really doesn't taste as bad as you think it does. The coffee taste is very subtle and light on your tastebuds. My sister's friend had this uhh, Bellpepper soup thing. I forgot what it's called but it tastes great. So creamy and good.

We went back to MoS and shit, it was awesome.

DJ Jon O'Bir is the shit. There was Progressive Trance the whole night and my God, it was damn good. Shufflers were all around, and people playing with glowsticks and stuff too.

Even Steven was there! (the rhyme was coincidental, I swear).

Not only that, after walking around for a bit, I saw Mass Commers on the podium, and joined them for a while (a LOOOOONG while). But overall it was fun.

Then suddenly I heard a really, really familiar song. AND YES IT WAS SILENCE BY TIESTO. ZZOMG the crowd went crazy. My sister, her friends, strangers.. everyone! Gahh great great. After that we left and took a cab home.

Ahh, another great night ended.

----
Saturday
I had a meeting to attend at 9.30am, and I only woke up at 9.30am. But hey, I rushed out and managed to be.. quite.. early.

I met my sister outside MoS and then we went in for the members party. Hilarious, I saw Leslie and his FSV friends at the members area. Didn't really get to talk cause we left to find my sister's friends at Fashion Bar.

And guess who I met at Fashion Bar!

No it's not Jade! LOL. I met someone better. I met Fiona! (: Ahh she gave me a big hug. Haha so welcoming. (: She's working there and we had a lil' conversation before I left for The Clinic.

Alright lah, it wasn't that crowded, probably because we went in early. So we went upstairs and then opened bottles. They were playing Soul House, and there were people performing live.

There was a singer, a trumpeter and a bongo (or conga) player.

ZOMG AND YOU KNOW WHAT?! There was this retarded lady dancing on the floor, and she started hitting the bongos (congas) like some retard. All of us were laughing at her. Mmm.

I kept clubhopping between MoS and The Clinic (and Fashion Bar to talk to Fiona). I met Aron at MoS as well. Hilarious, I always thought he was 17 and he was shouting into my ear that he's 18. Haha.

I went over to the Members' Area to talk to Leslie for a while too, then I went back to The Clinic, and then went home. Nothing much today. We ended up not going to Zouk, so I missed Above & Beyond. Damn!

----
Sunday
AHH I SLEPT AT 6.30AM UNTIL 7.30PM FUCK IT WAS A GOOD NIGHT'S REST I SWEAR. NO MORE CLUBBING UNTIL.. UNTIL.. GAHH I DON'T KNOW MAYBE I'LL JUST GO CLUB ON WEDNESDAY HOORAH!

Jaded

Thursday, December 14, 2006

Vera, Michelle and I went to town to do our Norm Breaking Exercise for Social Psychology. Twas' fun indeed, but would've been better if there were more people, lol. We started off with walking backwards around Far East. You should've seen the looks and stares people gave. Definitely classic.

There were this bunch of bengs/lians that were walking behind us (meaning we were facing them while walking backwards, lol). Then one of them exclaimed, "Siaoooo!".

LOL.

Well you know, at least we have an education, and a school assignment to do unlike you fucking lowlifes. But I guess, these reactions were all part of our assignment. Oh and best thing is, one of them lians, after they walked in front of us, had a major asscrack showing, like.. Really bad.

Mhmm. Major major major.

So anyway, we ended up at Taka and we wanted to do something different. So Michelle and I went to a pillar and stood by it really closely, and stared at it. Hoho. Vera was the observer the whole time and ya, it was hilarious. People stared, people whispered.. and this couple came up to me and asked what we were doing, lol.

Michelle had to leave early, so Vera and I decided to take a walk. And oh my God, we walked down by Mandarin Hotel and we saw someone. If you watch America's Next Top Model Cycle 6, you'd know who this is..

Can you guess? LOL, I know she looks like some ordinary person, but it's not.

Guess guess!

Give up?

Come on..

Okay fine, it's..

Jade Roda! She was one of the Top 3 Finalists for ANTM! Mm.

So like a crazy fan, I ran up to her and asked the obvious, "Hi are you Jade?".

.

.

.

Duh.

Then I asked what she was doing in Singapore, and she mentioned that she's doing shows here. In fact, she was going for one at that moment. I asked for a photo, but she refused cause she was "all messed up" (and she was doing some action, like fanning her face). LOL.

Oh well. Vera and I went into the hotel (ahaha sounds so wrong). We walked around while deciding whether or not to stalk her, LOL. So I went up to one of the staff there, and pretended to know something.

"Uh, excuse me, where's the modelling show that's going on today?"

HAHAHA STEPPING ONLY. So she pointed to the lift, and told us to go to the 6th floor. And indeed we did. The moment we stepped out of the lift, we saw all the glitz and glamour of the modelling industry.

Mm, they had booths up showcasing different clothes. And uh, yeah. It was interesting. Inside the ballroom, a rehearsal was taking place. There. Was. A. Runway.

THE DOOR!

We took a while to decide to go in. We were just standing outside, looking in. We inched forward everytime we wanted to get a closer look.

Oh and there were a million hot models there. They were all so damn hot. It's like, hot. Yeah that's hot. LOL.

We ended up inside, and we saw Jade again. She was workin' the runway. She has really long and nice legs! LOL.

The first one is Jade! (:

So anyway, for the next few days, I'll be partying like mad. And I'm so fucken excited. (:

Thursday
Powerhouse Opening. I have invites and it's free flow from 9-12am.

Friday
The Cannery Opening. My sister has invites. After that we're going to MoS because a DJ from Godskitchen is gonna be spinning. And it's free cause my sister's a member and she's signing me in.

Saturday
There's this thing happening at MoS at 8.30pm for members. My sister's bringing me in. Then we're off to The Clinic Final Addiction Party. I have invites, and yah. :D

Okay that's all. The next entry will be about my Party Weekend!

Above & Beyond

Wednesday, December 13, 2006

Oh yes it's been long. Too long.

The past week, or rather, the past few days have been great. It's like, a present for being patient after the week of hell. Like, the sun shining after it pours. Okay whatever. I think only a few know about the horrible week.

Plus that stupid warning letter.

There's been a lot of firsts, fun, laughter, sweat and body-aching madness the past few days. Guess what I did on Thursday for the first time?

I CLIMBED BUKIT TIMAH HILL!

Hoorah it's been on my To-Do-Before-I-Die List for a very long time. Haha, yeah though it might be nothing to you, but it's something to me. It's a landmark of Singapore okay, we gotta be patriotic and love our country.

Pardon the quality. Putri's camera ran out of battery, so we used her phone instead!

I went with Putri, Rui Ming and Shirin! We planned to go after Radio tutorial. But shit, it just had to fucking pour. So we decided to have lunch in school while we waited for the rain to subside.

And it finally did.

We walked halfway towards the hill, but I think SOME OF US got tired of walking. We took 184 to the entrance of the hill. Haha we're so lazy.

There was this really big tree (okay I know what you're thinking - there're big trees everywhere on Bukit Timah Hill) that was really, big. So Rui Ming and I took a photo! Oh did I mention, we took so many different routes to reach the summit. We wanted to see as much as possible.

Before this, Putri got to swing on a vine. Ahh, how lucky. Now she's a Tarzanette. I wanted my share of swinging too, so I sat on this vine and swung. LOL.

Finally - the summit. Nothing much there. No scenery, no nothing. We left our mark, and I saw monkeys (why is it not spelt 'monkies'?). I wanted to play with those monkeys in the trees, so I took out my bag of medicine, hoping that they'd be dumb enough to think it's food.

Sure I got their attention. They stared at me for a while, but didn't come down.

Gah so we went back down.

We decided to get some food the moment we were back in civilisation. Al Ameen it was, and we had prata and Milos.

Heh. Pouting is just retarded, really.

Saturday was awesome, but sad, I didn't bring a camera. Why was it awesome? Because I went to ZoukOut, and I stayed on till' the whole event ended.. at 8am. Dancing till' the sun came out was good.

School started at 10am on Monday because Speech Communication was cancelled. Then it ended around 12pm. Radio Production was cancelled too, so I had a break from 12 to 4pm. Shirin, Lim Wei, Putri and I decided to head to town for lunch.

After lunch, we went to Starbucks to chillax. Shirin had Oreo Cheesecake and Iced Mocha, and I forgot what Lim Wei had. LOL sorry. Putri and I didn't eat anything because well, we were indulging in ourselves. Haha.

We went over to Haagen Daz to see if Fauzi was working, and he was! But fuck, his manager told him to ignore us. Fine, so we decided to have fun ourselves.

Oh it was dress up day for us too. LOL. (:

(pfft, I still cannot believe two people said I looked like Lavanya, and I still cannot decide whether to leave my cardigan buttoned, or unbuttoned)

Back to school it was, to hand in our Paragraph Assignment, and for Written Communication lecture. Good thing it ended early. I was tired.

Today's another great day. I don't have classes every Tuesday, and Putri had an off day too. She's having her Common Tests. We decided to spend the whole day at Vivocity. Mm. Such an unproductive day it was, but it was fun just being with her. :D

Le outfit for today.

Ditto.

We sat down at Subway and had our meal (well technically, she was the one eating and I was just watching). She had err, a 6-inch long meatball sandwich of some sort and a cookie. After a while I decided to show her how big my bite can get.

Mhmm. It can actually get bigger, but it's her lunch. LOL. It tasted good though, fwahha. So I challenged her to take a big bite that's equivalent to mine. Mmm. I really thought she couldn't do it, haha. :x

Whao.

Whaaao..

Whhhhaaaaaoooo..

Drink up, drink up. I bet she nearly choked on that big piece of shi.. meat. Does taking bigger bites really make you fatter as opposed to taking smaller bites? Haha, interesting.

We decided to go exploring again, and we ended up at the Cable Car place. We took the lift up to the 15th storey, and on the way up, we saw a breathtaking view.

It's so prettaye. We were so excited that we decided to go up and down for about, uhh, 4 times. As in, up & down, up & down, down, up & down, up & down. Uhhuh.

Oh and did you know that if you stand at the corner of the lift, which is like, half made of glass so that you can see the view, when it's going down, it (almost) feels as though you're falling to your death.

Or maybe it's just me. LOL.

And yes, I love Caroline Lim because she is simply adorable. <3 HAHAHAHA.

Dreams

Friday, December 08, 2006

Beauty is a curse of the world.

Dreams are such unbiased things. They are your imagination. They are your inner desires. They are your goals. They are things that are possible. They give people hope. They give people motivation. They are unnatural. They are impossible. They blind people from reality. They bring nothing but angst, jealousy and depression. They kill people.

All my life is changing everyday in every possible way. And all my dreams it's never quite as it seems. I know I felt like this before, but now I'm feeling it even more, because it came from you. And then I open up and see, the person falling here is me; a different way to be.

I want more. Impossible to ignore. And they'll come true, impossible not to do. And now I tell you openly, you have my heart so don't hurt me. You're what I couldn't find - a totally amazing mind; so understanding and kind. You're everything to me.

Thanks for forgetting.
