The Bedroom Sessions by Adam Kerr

New Layout!

Thursday, August 31, 2006

Ahh yes, finally a fresh look.

It's nothing really, I just changed the colour scheme and like, added patterns here and there, and stuff. Woo, now my blog is in my favourite colour, Orange! (:

Anyway, I shifted the comments thing to the bottom of the entry so that you don't have to scroll back up just to write a comment. I realised how troublesome it is. Woohoo! Err, well I've updated almost every page. I edited the Biography Page (all the sections!), Site Page and Links page. I removed all the brokened links and stuff. If you still want me to link you, let me know.

----

Friendster; amazing little website isn't it?

A good medium where you can find all your old buddies from Primary School and Secondary School and stuff. A place where you can write testimonials about your pals, and see how the world is connected to each other and stuff.

But, when you have friends like these,

you'd wish you could kill some of them. Roar!

PARTY PARTY!

Sunday, August 27, 2006

Finally a title that actually makes sense!

Waadduup yo!

Haha, right now I'm really feeling sick and my body's aching from last night. It was fucking awesome. My sister missed out a lot. She wanted to go but she had no cash. And I was going broke too so I couldn't pay for her.

Ahh yes I shall tell you about my Super Great Party Week! Where do I start? Gahh, there's just so much to talk about and I think I've outdone myself this time. LOL! I'm going to stay home tonight after Alumni and maybe finish up this entry. I can forsee that I will take forever to finish this entry.

And why is that?

Because I like to multi-task. Yes yes did you know when you multi-task, your quality of work done for whatever will go down for both? You may not realise it, but I'm serious. Haha. Solution? DO ONE THING AT A TIME. (: But you know, I don't like ignoring people who're messaging me on MSN (and partly because that blue thing on the taskbar is annoying).

Wednesday
Laura and I spent the whole day very well indeed. She told her dad that she'd be staying over at Putri's place. Haha, it's a white lie. -wink-

So anyway, we met in school at 9am (and for the first time I was there 5 mins before that, WOW) to get some stuff for duty at Hong Kah Sec. Setting up was damn stupid. And embarrassing. We were so ambitious and excited to set up the exhibition panels, because we were still amazed at how the small little thing can become such a big thing (pun intended, hah!).

We set it up, and unfortunately, after putting those magnetic strips, I realised that it's upside down, and facing the wrong side (ie the wall). Fuck, we had to like, take off the strips and make it smaller, and then turn it around and on the right side, and then open it up and stick those strips again. HAHAHAHAHAHHA!

And with those blue thingys that we have to stick on, its was a pretty funny sight, I must say. If I were those Secondary School kids that were watching us, I'd laugh too. Too bad, no pictures. Anyway, after the two recesses, we were bored and had nothing to do till 1.30pm (we officially finish duty).

She started plaiting my hair (see below).

See?! Yeah, school was ending and people started coming into the canteen. That was damn embarrassing. After duty, we went to the nearby Mac, and we met Daniel, Justin, Zach (actually that's not his name but I gave him that name because I cannot seem to pronounce it) and some girl named Yan something. HEHEHE. Had a ball of a time talking shit and discussing about our Star Wars Movie Marathon.

Daniel and Justin are coming over (one day) to catch all 6 movies within two days. :D Marathon all the way. Woo how cool is that. :/ Anybody else wanna join us? Heh.

So after Macs, we got kinda lazy, and decided to cover one school - Commonwealth Secondary (oh btw we were supposed to update 5 schools' notice boards). Wah that school is just huge lah. We had to walk up and down the school just to find the noticeboard, but to no avail.

Nah bei make us walk the whole school.

But never mind lah, we got to exercise and I finally got to see what Commonwealth looks like inside. I always see it when I'm on the PIE only. Haha.

So after Commonwealth, we took a cab back to my placed and crashed for about 2 hours before setting off to Zouk! We woke up at 7pm-ish and met Tim at Zouk at about 10pm-ish. And after we finally got in, we had a ball of a time!

Sorry no photos, I was too lazy to bring a camera. But just imagine this - Six Mass Commers and one ECH student, dancing around to retro music and watching the regulars mass dancing, and us, who sometimes try to imitate them. :D And imagine this too - two people who've wanted to dance/club together, and finally did. (:

Thursday
We were supposed to head down to Ministry of Sound for the regular RnB night, but we got lazy, and decided to just chill. So Jun Wei planned this "extremely early birthday celebration" for himself and invited Coolkids+Timmy along. We went to Arab Street for dinner and sheesha!

CoolKids! :D So we went to this place called Samar at the corner of Baghdad Street (hehe what an appropriate name). I found the food there alright for me, but I think the rest didn't really enjoy their food AND time there.

I know Putri didn't because she ordered like, Breadbasket with Salsa dip, which took forever to come. Oh yes, did you know that our food came like, 45 minutes after ordering? I think if we dialled for some Macs, it'd reach even faster.

So anyway, after our food came, we ate and stuff, and Putri's food didn't come. So Timmy asked the waiter to check on the food, and he didn't. Putri ended up cancelling her order, and she had to go off already because her Mom was making noise.

Not bad lah, just that the service there could've been better. We were seated at the corner, where there were lots of pillows and stuff. And the lighting was good, it added to the ambience, but it got a little irritating when we were trying to read the menu.

So anyway, I was telling you about the lighting right? Well one of the bulbs blew, and some guy that worked there (still had the audacity to) asked me to help him fix it. So we had to take out the ornament thing, change the bulb, and put the ornament back. When I put the ornament back, the new bulb blew. WTF! Quite scary ah the sound, like short circuit like that.

Tim, Jon and I have something in common. XD Fwahahaha stop guessing cause you'll never know. We have...

.. the same friendship band! Haha it was just an impromptu thing after FOC. We bought it at Rastafari (or something along that line) at Marina Square. Then we just wore it and like, didn't take it out till' today, althought we might have to because Timmy's one is about to break. Woo.

An attempt at being a twit. Check this out. This other picture is so much better.

I actually look like Dan when he was trying to imitate those twits. God. Okay I was just bored waiting for the food to come, so I decided to take such dumb photos and post it up. I thought it'd be quite interesting.

omgwtf I can't believe I (just) had this conversation with Putri. Read!

We, were, so, fucking, bored. Sorry, digressed a bit (a bit of digression never caused any harm what).

We got pissed and left after finishing our food, and we refused to pay the Service charge, so we got 10% waived off, meaning there was no service charge (duh the service was quite shitty). Jon and Putri left. Laura, Tim, Jun Wei and I! We went back to the main street (Arab St) to find a place where Tim went to before.

We found it, settled down and ordered two sheeshas. One Apple Mint and the other Grape.

See, we're always bored when we're sitting down. Give us something to do, thank you (that actually rhymed). Anyway, the sheesha actually tasted quite good, but after a while the novelty wore off. Haha.

Good Thursday. (:

Friday
TGIF! (Thank God It's Friday). I woke up just in time to make plans for the day. We didn't plan the meeting time and place and all. So at 3pm I messaged the peeps.

Everyone was late, heh heh. But it was all good. We had lunch at BK, and we realised that we were all using the same amount of money, in the same notes. Err, yeah just look lah okay.

After lunch/dinner, we walked over to 77th Street so that I could like, buy lightsticks for the night's event at Zouk. WOOOOOO! Okay before I talk about Zouk, let me tell you about WOMAD @ Fort Canning.

The performers that "opened" WOMAD 2006 was Sam Tshabalala. Not too bad, just that the crowd wasn't very happening yet, and actually, there wasn't much of a crowd too. LOL. It was only like say, 6.30pm. We were there early because I wanted to catch this Sam Tshabalala person. LOL. Sitting around and seeing the many pretty ang mohs, we spotted a very enthusiastic guy.

He knew the lyrics to the songs they sung! That's damn cool man. We just sat around, enjoying the music and the surroundings, and took a lot of pictures.

Oh I forgot to mention, Putri and Laura were wearing almost the same top that day. It was hilarious, they looked like a lesbian couple. Aww.. Fwahahhaa. Ohh I forgot to mention, there was this whole group of other enthusiasts who were dancing around and stuff, I'm going to call them - The Group. You'll be hearing more of them in a while!

That's them! The Group.

So anyway, we moved up to the Top Stage, which was stairs and stairs away. We caught the Korean-based performers called Dulsori. At first when we saw them, it looked and sounded like some Chinese Opera thing that was going on. But I was certain there was more to it because from the Promotional Video I watched on the website, it was better, and there were more drums.

That old guy on the right (ahh senior citizen, but I respect him because he paints well) painted that painting in the background on the spot. I think those Korean girls who were "screaming" (or singing) were telling a story, while he illustrated it. Basically there was a picture of a man (or a God), a Dragon, and a Phoenix. Cool shit. And then the drums came in.

Honestly, how do you dance to drums that are beating really fast? The Group was prancing about like some tribespeople, but then again, it's cool because that's the spirit of WOMAD. What were the rest of the people (like us) doing?

Heh. Wait lah, haven't hyped up yet. Just wait okay.

We went back to Fort Green Stage to catch The Musafir Gypsies of Rajasthan. They were good, very typical Indian kinda music. This time we decided to get off our feet and get in front (by this time Sherrie and Jit were with us already, but they just sat down).

Good thing we did, or else we wouldn't have been able to see this. One of the gypsies was dancing around with about 6 pots on her head, and then she did tricks like, standing on these knives/dagger-like thing and started stomping on them. It was crazy, and she didn't even bleed! But we were discussing about it and came to a conclusion that its just a piece of thick wood that's very strong and is wrapped with very good aluminium foil. LOL!

One of The Group members bumped into me lah, wtf. She was like, drunk or something. We noticed her for since the Dulsori performance at Top Stage, and she was falling all over the place. If she was skinny it'd be okay but fuck she was fat, and she knocked into me. -.- Fuck you.

Hehehe. We moved back to Top Stage to see Chico Cesar, who was already playing. The crowd at the front was forming real quick, so I decided to slither through the crowd that was sitting down to catch their performance, and fuck, it was a good decision cause the music was fucking awesome.

Was your Mom there?

We had a great time at his performance. One of the best that night. People of all ages and races were there, enjoying the music and dancing to it. This is love man. Woo! Watch this video of Putri and I dancing around. (:

We just decided to chillout in the end at one of the workshops. The Musafir Gypsies were talking about themselves and their instruments and stuff.

Laura and I managed to take a photo with the Gypsies! :D

So anyway, I went to change and then met Timothy, Sherrie (who left for double O), Marie and Kit outside Zouk. Cosmic Gate was spinning and we were prepared for a fucking great night of fun, trance, puking, shuffling and lightstick dancing. LOL.

Got wasted, and didn't take photos. Wah, shit I tell you the music was fucking awesome can. Zouk was opened till 5.30am if I remembered correctly. Woo! Took a cab home and now I'm broke.

*******************

YAY so that's the whole party weekend for you in one, fuckingly long, entry. I thouroughly enjoyed myself, and I told Jon that this week, or at least until Thursday, I will be detoxing, meaning I won't be drinking and stuff. Haha.

More events coming up! Just look at what I've lined up for September! (: Thanks for your time. Comments above. :P

STINKY TOES

Wednesday, August 23, 2006

Hello there.

Haha no my title has nothing to do with the content of this entry, and it usually happens like this. (read: i love titles!) Yea I haven't been updating a lot, and I finally cleared up my FTP, and deleted a whole bunch of pictures, and stuff.

It's time to update a bit on my life. It's been a great 16 weeks in school, and the coming 7 weeks of holidays is gonna be crazy. Let me forewarn you, this is gonna be a long post.

Location Video Production: Scarlet Nails

After days of planning our production with the group, we finally started shooting. It was gonna be our final project for this module. Fwahahhaha, so we gave our best. (shit I forgot when we actually did our shoot, but it was over the weekend)

What's our plot about? It's pretty simple really.

Jeremy, a young teenager with raging hormones, is bisexual and has a Mom, who takes care of him all by herself. He also has a boyfriend, Ryan. His Mom knows about him, and has told him to break all contact with him. She thought he did, until she went through his things, and found Ryan's letters to him.

She confronts him one day, and Jeremy, out of a fit of anger, leaves the house and spends the night at Ryan's place. The next day, he goes to school for his Chemistry Practical Examination. Still bothered by the argument with his Mom and the lack of sleep the night before, he does his practical, and carelessly added the wrong chemicals.

The chemicals had a big reaction and broke in Jeremy's face while he was mixing the two. He was then sent to hospital, and that's all I'm telling you. If you want to know more, or see the video, let me know. (: I'll post it up if there's enough people asking for it. Fwahahaha.

The picture above shows me briefing the extras & cast what exactly that we wanted out of this scene, and we had many dry runs before we actually shot the thing so that we wouldn't waste film (but we still kinda did in the end, hahaha).

Did you know that lighting is so important in making films? LOL, okay duh I bet you knew that already. But, who cares? I'm telling you anyway.

The Birth of a New Baby Nephew/Niece (I don't know)

Meet my Mom, who is now the Grand Aunt of 3476129372913340123 other nephews and nieces. I swear, my family is just so damn big, that I can only remember a few. It's interesting though when they ask me (now) when I see them whether I remember them, and I'd say no.

Then they'd go like, "Oh remember when you were small, I used to carry you around."

Yeah sure, only 23712937123 other people carried me around too. And duh, no, I don't remember YOU being one of them (like I'd remember the others too). Fwahaha, cute lah my aunties and uncles, but I wish I knew more of them. (:

That's the proud (new) owner Mom of the baby. She's my cousin and she's 27 years old! So young right? Should be lah. I couldn't make it down to the hospital to greet the angelic little thing (not my cousin the baby, HAHHA just kidding, but no, serious, LOL). So Mom brought the camera.

Eve of National Day

I finally decided to watch the fireworks with a bunch of old friends. We planned for this day for a long time because it was going to be a half-day for most of us, and some of us didn't have school. All of us were always so busy with our own lives, and it seemed like this day was the day all of us were rather free, so we met up. And guess who I met up with?

YES, MY MI FRENDS!

God, I missed them like crazy. I finally got to meet up with Sebastian (who by the way, is always MIA at class events and shit last time), Nural, Peihan and Yanzu! We met up at PS and had dinner at ThaiExpress. Good shit. Then we walked over to the Padang and watched the fireworks. We sat around longer, and started talking shit.

Bad idea, should've walked and talked instead. Why?

Uhhuh, when we were going down to City Hall MRT Station, and we were greeted by a warm sea of homosapiens walking up and down. The reason we sat down and talked a bit longer, was to avoid this. But no use, chee bye.

I met Fauzi, Zameer and Xiao Chen at the platform. They were from the fireworks too. And my stomach started to act up again (probably because of all the spice from ThaiExpress, yeah I ate the Fire Noodles, HAHAHA). The train came, and luckily, there were a few seats. So I sat down, but fuck, the pain was getting more unbearable.

I decided to alight at Redhill after much consideration. It was quite late and I was afraid that I might miss the last train. I had no fucking cash to take a cab back home. So I had to make do with the disgustingly spooky public toilet. Fauzi and Zameer accompanied me (Xiao Chen left already).

Woo God bless.

After clearing my bowels, we realised there was still another train, so we rushed up to the platform and took the train! (:

National Day
Happy Belated Birthday, Singapore. Sorry I couldn't celebrate with you, I had other plans. I'll tell you more in a while, but I'm quite upset with what I saw on your birthday.

These are some blocks around my neighbourhood that I noticed when I went out of my house on this very special day. Notice anything? Yeah, they all no flags. Call me patriotic, whatever, I still can't believe they didn't even bother lah. Other neighbourhoods have blocks with every unit flying their Singapore flag proudly.

I know my family did.

And I know I was very patriotic that day.

I even wore a red top out.

Anyway, why did I go out? Well, that's because I had to go to school to complete some projects with Michelle and some other friends. And I left halfway during the NDP Celebrations, but luckily during my whole journey to school (I took buses, miraculously), MobileTV kept me entertained. They showed the celebrations. (:

Hoorah for Digital TV Broadcasting!

Happy Advanced Birthday Poots!

It was a crazy day. Plans were going all wrong and stuff, but we managed to pull through Putri's surprise. (:

Laura and I planned to blindfold her, and then surprise her in town. But we wanted it to be even more surprising, so we split up. Laura, Jon and I met up earlier to buy some stuff for Putri, and then Laura left to meet Poots in town. Jon and I went to PS for lunch, and then went to buy a cake.

We had to lie to Putri, and it was kinda mean. I told her that I was with my classmates at Jurong when she called. LOL, and she actually believed it. I mean, who wouldn't, right? I know I would not fall for any scam if I told myself about these kind of things near my birthday some more.

Beautiful, ain't it?

After that, I treated her to some Turkish Ice-Cream. Mmhmm, that infamous Turkish Ice-Cream. LOL! Here's a video we took!

Wine, Sun and the Pool

Sherrie, Linus and I met each other to crap about school and stuff. Had an RTD bottle of White Wine. Then that night, I decided to stay over at Sherrie's place. Then Linus came over and we had pool fun!

After which, they came over to MY place, and watched some really good shows on DVD - Closer (which I've seen a gazilion times already), Harold & Kumar Goes To White Castle (second time) and Trainspotting (the movie that made the song Born Slippy by Underworld, famous).

We could go on watching, but by the mid of our second movie, our ice cream already finish the rest (note: BEN&JERRY'S). Nevertheless, we still enjoyed each other's company. I know I did. :D

*******************************************

SO that's basically what you've been missing out in my life. I'm getting more pictures from Laura tomorrow, so hang in there. (: It's great to be back blogging. :D WOOOOOO!

OF LOVE AND HATE

Sunday, August 20, 2006

You know, I'm not trying to shoot anybody but I just hate it when people make other plans without telling me beforehand. It's so fucking inconsiderate, moreover when you have made plans with that person for the whole day.

Let's just look at a typical scenario.

You make plans with Andy (just an example), an old friend, to just hang out and chill, and have dinner at somewhere nice to catch up. So you thought that you guys are gonna hang out for quite a long time. So you guys meet up at 4pm in town. Hang out and shit. And then, when it was about 7pm, when you planned to have dinner with him somewhere, he tells you this.

"Hey, I gotta go. I made plans to have dinner with another friend."

HOORAY YOUR DAY HAS JUST BEEN FUCKING RUINED. NOW YOU GOT NO OTHER FUCKING THING TO DO. YAY.

Another scenario would be something like, a group of you made plans to do something together, and then one of your friends in the group made plans without telling you halfway through the "outing". Yay.

----

Anyway, sorry I haven't been updating and sorry if you've been having problems trying to access my site. My FTP is full, and I can't upload any pictures anymore. But I've deleted some of my pictures, so if you happen to read my archives and you notice that there are some broken pictures, yeah, that's the reason. (:

Gah, after tomorrow, I'll be quite free already. Very free in fact.

Party Weekend Plan
Wednesday we're partying @ Zouk because its Mambo Night!
Thursday we're partying @ MoS because I have seven free tickets!
Friday we're going to WOMAD 2006 @ Fort Canning Park! Then we're partying @ Zouk, because Cosmic Gate will be there!

END OF MASS COMMUNICATIONS 1.1!! Fuck I'm so excited for next semester. We'll be doing Radio, Written Communications, Speech Communications and Social Psychology! :D

(no pics today, sorry.)

TOKYO DRIFT

Wednesday, August 09, 2006

Hello. I'm going to review a movie that I just caught two days ago. There's gonna be a bit of spoilers, but not that much. I'm just gonna comment on what I think about the movie.
Basic critique. The movie had a plot, but the plot was quite shallow. I mean, the movie was more focused on drifting and the different hot cars (and girls) in the movie. CGI was good, and character development was there.

However, being a Mass Comm student, I've started to watch movies in a different perspective. LOL. I was just telling Jon what I thought about the movie after a few hours.
Spoilers ahead, beware.

Okay so this White dude named Sean Boswell (Lucas Black) keeps getting into trouble and has to move from place to place. He moves to Japan, an Asian country where his dad stays. Soon he gets into the underground racing scene, and gets himself involved in a race, which he lost in because he doesn't know how to drift.

So he learns from someone who wants to help him out named Han (Sung Kang). And after his tutorage, he improves, and in the end, beats the Drift King (Brian Tee), and be comes the new drift king.

From what I see it, the movie is trying to say that the Whites are very superior. Why? Because a White, who doesn't know how to drift at all, comes to Japan and learns. After he learns it, he actually beats the Drift King, showing that he's better than him. So what, is this movie trying to show that the Whites learn things faster than Asians, and can be better at it than Asians?

HUH?!

Okay well. Just a thought. I'm giving it 3 out of 5 stars - because cgi and cars and girls are hot, but plot is kinda shallow. The soundtrack is good too, so I'd recommend you to watch it if you like cars, and if racing is your thing. (:

MILK & CEREAL PART 2

Sunday, August 06, 2006

In case some of you didn't know, Milk & Cereal was actually a video that was made long long ago, but other people. I can't seem to find the original one, but this one's my favourite. It's damn cute, haha!

And the rest are here.

Yes I know that it isn't exactly milk that we used, but Sherrie didn't have milk in the house anymore, so we used what she had left - orange juice.

Here's Making The Video - Milk and Cereal by Sherrie and Adam!

I R ADAM! WATCH ME EAT YOU UP! GROARRRR!

This is how Sherrie will look in 10 years time, when she's pregnant, heh.

This is when we started to get bored, after exchanging songs.

That super big Hersheys' Kiss was a present..

..that we decided to play with..

.. and eventually eat.

Err, yeah.

MILK & CEREAL!

I think Sherrie looks really cute here, haha!

Mhmm.

Adam: Why don't we have milk?
Sherrie: Aiyah orange juice will do lah!

Big mouths.

So basically I was at Sherrie's house to exchange songs and stuff. But then it got boring, and stupid ideas started coming into our heads, thus Milk & Cereal.

Great, we made it from my Macbook. :D HAH! The in-built iSight is useful afterall. LOL.

(psst, we almost did Dragonstea Din Tei, but neither of us had the song, THANK GOD.)

(maybe that'll be our next video, watch out, HAHAHAHAH)
