HONG BAO NA LAI!

Happy Chinese New Year to all my Chinese friends and those celebrating it, and Happy Holidays to those who aren't. I wish you all a very prosperous new year and may your future endeavours come true!

Okay the title didn't really seem appropriate but what the heck. My computer is down for the holidays, which will mean that my days at home will be very boring indeed. I can't believe my computer ALWAYS dies on me at the wrong time.

It started on Friday afternoon, while I was using my computer - as usual. Then I could smell something very awful, like something was burning. But I ignored it anyway. However, after a while, it became quite unbearable and I consulted my friend for help.

He told me that maybe the insides of my CPU were too hot, and told me to open it up to air it. So I let it air for about 2 hours, while I continued reading my book (I was reading The Chronicles of Narnia: The Boy and His Horse). After that, I connected everything back (but I didn't close up my CPU) and turned my computer back on.

It was fine, running as usual. Then the smell came. Shortly after that, BOOM! There was a spark somewhere near the Motherboard and my computer shut down itself. I couldn't turn it on anymore.

I'm using my dad's computer now while he's trying to rectify the problem. Sigh. I'm at a risk of losing all my files again despite backing up my files in another hard disk, because apparently, the hard disk is the one with the problem now.

F*ck.

I'd just die if that happens because I have too many important files in my computer - pictures (worth a thousand words), songs, albums, word documents, logs. I have a gazillion files and I cannot afford to lose them! This isn't the first time it has happened to me, as you might have noticed I bolded the word again two paragraphs before this.

November 2003
My computer died. It had to be reformatted and everything was gone. My whole life before 2003 and the pictures that came with it. Sad. I was out when my dad called me to tell me that my computer had to be reformatted.

December 2004
My computer died again, this time it was a few days after Graduation Night! Thank God I developed my Band POP and Graduation Night photos. But then again, my whole Sec 4 life, inclusive of pictures and songs and logfiles AND ORIGINAL BLOGSKINS, were gone. After my computer was reformatted, I didn't touch my computer for a good period of two weeks. I was too upset.

If it happens again I doubt I'll come online for a very long time. Sigh I'm just hoping (and praying) for the best (gah this sounds very dramatic, as though someone is dying).

BORED TO DEATH

Friday, January 27, 2006

It's really hilarious what two people with webcams, who are really (and I mean extremely) bored, can do. They come up with the weirdest things to do. My friend, Chee Liong and I just decided to view each other on webcams while being on the phone for God-knows-what reason. He certainly looks like some mysterious serial killer in the shadows right?

Actually he looks like paedophile too. Gah, this is scary.

Anyway that's not the point. I took out my knife, and suddenly both of us came up with silly ideas. Here comes the story:

Long ago, in a galaxy far away, about 10 million lightyears away, there lived two great warriors. Both of them were archnemesis and came from two different planets. Qilerwan (Chee Liong), the great High King of the Qizhenland on the planet Tahmen Joo Wrong, has reigned over his land for 34812 years. He loves cooking for his family and is very humble.

Yutuqmieyanlefmee (Adam), was the ruler of Cyberspace and had control over all the 9 planets in the universe - well, all except one. He had not managed to conquer Tahmen Joo Wrong because of Qilerwan's reign. He was a very evil and sinister man, who killed ants whenever he saw them. But his greatest weakness was radiation from an invention called the Cellphone, that can be found on Earth in the Solar System (another universe).

This time, Yutuqmieyanlefmee (let's call him Yutuq for short) worked hard for 24091 years and killed many other sorcerers and witches (and ants) to take their powers. He was very confident that he could take over Tahmen Joo Wrong. So he challenged Qilerwan, putting his ruler title on the line, and to fight to the death!

They gathered on planet Yeehuwah in an extremely big dome, where all the Gods could watch and could sit about 21971203848 people. They waited until it was 2800hrs (they're in another universe so the times are different, and besides, it's MY story)

2800hrs
There they stood, face to face with their weapons in the ring. They stood at their fighting stance, ready to strike at any moment. They had to fight to the death! Yutuq was quite nervous because he had his title on the line, and if he lost, it would mean he'll be thrown into the dungeons of Tahmen Joo Wrong. Yutuq made the first move. He charged towards Qilerwan.

2830hrs
They were still fighting and nobody was bleeding yet. Yutuq decides to use his red lightsabre because the knife was useless and it became more blunt because it became more blunt due to Qilerwan's shield (the wok). Qilerwan too decides to change his weapon because he realised that he had no attacking weapons. He then threw his shield and whipped out the butcher knife. Then he charged towards Yutuq and chopped of his right hand!

2840hrs
Yutuq was now handicapped as he lost one of his arm. His lightsabre dropped onto the floor. He was bleeding profusely (Yutuq has orange blood). Qilerwan took advantage of this and beheaded him with a ladle and the butcher knife. Qilerwan won and was now the ruler of cyberspace. He had control of all the planets and was crowned.

Meet the new ruler of Cyberspace, Qilerwan, High King of the Qizhenland on the planet Tahmen Joo Wrong.

I told you we had nothing better to do. Okay, I'm going to bury my head into the ground now. Or maybe I should go jogging. Ahh I know, I shall go kill more ants.

NEW LAYOUT

One fine day, Jolene told me that she couldn't stand my layout and told me to change it. She said it was pretty troublesome because it was Firefox-unfriendly and she had to open IE to view my blog. Others said that the boy made them dizzy ROFL. I told her I'd change it when I have the time.

She told me again last night, and she spent the whole afternoon (10am to 7pm) just now doing a layout for me. She didn't want to do the coding for me and expected me to learn by myself, so she sent an email with the files attached, and her very own tutorial.

Oh by the way, I'm using .php now instead of .htm LOL. Yes I know I'm slow, but I'm improving.

I took about an hour or so to fully understand how to use .php with her tutorial and TRUST ME, her tutorial (her first one to be exact) is the greatest, simplest and easiest tutorial I've ever read, followed and fully understood in my whole entire life that I have exis.. Yea, you know what I mean.

However, to do the CODING, it took me from the time I wanted to sleep, 6pm+ till now. Gah, it was helluva tiring job to find all the mistakes I made that made the site look, weird. There were so many small little mistakes like unclosed tags. Gah. Anyway..

She also taught me how to use blogger to update entries. I used to do it manually and it was pretty taxing on my part, but now that I have blogger, it's so much more convenient. It also lessens the number of files I have! Just look at this.

Before

After

You don't have to see it in detail but you CAN see the difference in number of files right? Oh well. Anyway, thanks again Jolene! <3
